Spacecraft Integration & Test Engineer
Astro Digital designs, builds, and operates a diverse range of small satellite systems supporting space-based turnkey missions for several business applications, including earth observation, communications, in-orbit demonstrations, risk reduction, science, and exploration. Position Summary
With the Spacecraft Integration and Test team, you will join a creative and enthusiastic group, applying your experience to assure mission success. Your primary role will be to support requirements verification of satellite missions. This involves working with customers and Systems Engineering to understand and specify requirements as well as: carrying out, revising, and writing test plans and procedures; presenting results and feedback to designers and program management; and creating new hardware, processes, or software to improve production flow and quality.
Spacecraft Integration and Test engineers gain both a broad and detailed knowledge of satellite systems. As a secondary role, this expertise enables collaboration in spacecraft design, build, or operations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Write and execute test plans for spacecraft components at all levels of integration, including fully assembled Flight Models
- Analyze and present feedback on both the process and results to larger teams
- Flow observations to the business development and engineering teams to support proposal work and inform future designs
- Ensure test plans and procedures meet system requirements and evolving mission characteristics
- Develop and operate test automation hardware and software
Troubleshoot anomalous test results, identify, and help track defects - Apply diligence to promote production efficiency, mission objectives, and above all, hardware, and personnel safety
- Continually seek out ways to improve the fidelity of tests
Qualifications
Required:

Required:
- B.S. or M.S. in engineering (aerospace, mechanical, electrical, software), math, physics, or related field
- Comfort executing, reading, and writing detailed procedures
- Proficiency with lab electrical diagnostic and measurement tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, sources, spectrum analyzers)
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Proficiency writing object-oriented software such as Python
- Skill conveying details of a problem or solution to someone with less familiar with the situation
- Desire to define and solve problems independently, tempered with experience to know when to seek input
- Interest in collaborating with a first-rate, collegial team
- ≥ 2 years' experience in testing, test engineering, or technical aspects of product design or production
- Environmental testing experience
- Experience in aerospace, automotive industry, mass production, or test automation
- Experience in electrical design, microcontroller operations, embedded systems
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system
